Les Misfits sont de retour! Proclamés héros depuis leur dernière apparition sur une scène montréalaise en juillet 1997, Les Misfits sont la preuve, avec leur gloire et leurs fans que le mot "culte" s'adapte parfaitement à ces monstres du New Jersey. Depuis la sortie d'American Psycho sur l'étiquette Geffen l'année dernière, Les Misfits ont pris d'assaut les salles nord-américaines avec une tournée à guichets fermés, ils reviendront nous hanter le 4 octobre prochain au Medley avec leur hurlements et leurs "riffs" à vous faire frémir. Les Misfits une des formations punks les plus marquantes de tous les temps, mettent sur pieds leur propre label et s'apprêtent à lancer EVILLIVE II, le deuxième album "live" du groupe en 20 ans, enrégistré l'année dernière pendant la tournée avec Megadeth. Un spectacle typique des Misfits, avec cercueils, chandeliers,fils d'araignées, velour rouge, sang, et coiffures endiablées, est une expérience sensorielle unique. Afin de conserver leur image théatrale, Les Misfits espèrent s'improviser bientôt gérants d'estrades dans la WWF. D'Après un scoop provenant de leur site web officiel, nous pouvons nous attendre à voir des figurines Misfits (mettant en vedette Jerry Only et Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein). Genetic Control, une formation punk influent de la scène hardcore locale de 1984-86, est de retour pour une prestation exclusive montréalaise. Avec le personnel original mettant en vedette Zabo, maintenant habitant à Vancouver, Bobby Casino et Kung Fu Rob aux guitares, l'incendiaire Lewis (Lizard) à la batterie et le bassiste original Dick Pageant; Genetic Control sera de la partie. Le groupe décida de se retrouver pour de bon suite à la réunion à guichet fermés du 15ième Anniversaire des Foufounes en mai dernier. Leur 7 pouces indépendant First Impressions, lancé en 1984 se classe parmi les autres succès GenCon tels que Urban Cowboy, 1984, Love Rat et Suburban Life, (ce dernier se retrouvant sur la compilation classique Primitive Air-Raid sur l'étiquette Psyche Industry). Une édition "live" inèdite est projétée.

Guy Smiley de Winnipeg (CD "Can't turn back" sur Smalltown Records) & encore, membres de la scène locale hardcore des années 80, Fair Warning (aussi à guichet fermés lors du 15ième Anniversaire) seront de la fête.

The Misfits are back! Heroes from the moment they emerged on stage here last July 97 before a sold-out audience in all their made-up glory, the fanatics, fans and fiends following The Misfits are proof that the word "cult" was invented for the NJ monsters. Storming sold-out audiences since the release of American Psycho on Geffen last year, The Misfits' are coming back to haunt us on October 4 at the Medley. With their wailing wall of guitars, spooky riffs and howling vocals, The Misfits are one of the most influential punk rock acts of all time. The ghoul-rockers (vocalist Michale Graves, drummer Dr. Chud, and original 'fits, bassist Jerry Only, brother and guitarist Doyle) are forming their own label and are all set to release EVILLIVE II, only the band's second live album in 20 years. The disk was recorded while on tour last year with Megadeth (a Fiend Club* membership exclusive from which they'll play a few tracks). Combined with coffins (the band were once arrested for grave-robbing in New Orleans), candleabras, blood-red velvet, chandeliers, cobwebs, spikes, and devilock hair styles, The Misfits' show and music create an incendiary sensory experience. In keeping with their theatrical image, the band are also hoping to enter into the macho pantomime world of WWF wrestling as ringside managers. Also coming in 1999 (according to a scoop on their official website), Misfits action figures, featuring Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, G.I. Joe style. Until then they are live and in the "flesh"

Genetic Control, a focal point of the local Punk scene from 1984-86, are together again for an exclusive Montreal performance. An all original line-up, featuring frontman Zabo, now living in Vancouver, Bobby Casino and Kung Fu Rob on guitars, rapacious drummer Lewis (Lizard), and back-by-popular-demand original bass player Dick Pageant, are confirmed and ready to blast out their fan favorites. The band were inspired to reform following the Foufoune's sold out, sing-a-long, 15th Anniversary Reunion show last May for the 1st time in 13 years. Released independently in 1984, the 7" single First Impressions ranks among other GenCon hits like Urban Cowboy, 1984, Love Rat and Suburban Life, the latter of which appeared on the classic Primitive Air-Raid Compilation on Psyche Industry Records. A rare, special edition live recording is in the works.
